Be the Rainbow

Three days in a row!!!
WOW! that would have to be a first for me!

This week's theme at
is #47 "Bright Sunny Colours"

and to top it off, there is still time to be included in
Stampotique #155 "Newspaper/Magazine"

The tag was made by blending Distress Ink 'mustard seed' and 'spiced marmalade' which really creates a lovely orange glow to the tag.

A background "Sea Bubbles" by Designs by Ryn
 was stamped in 'picked raspberry'.

The basket (which reminds me of a nest) was torn from an old scrapbook magazine
and then "Toucan and Budgie" from Stampotique were stamped onto white cardstock
and coloured using Distress Inks and a blending tool, with small details added on the beak and feathers.  They were fussy cut and popped onto dimensionals in front of the basket.

A word sticker from Pink Paisley seemed to suit these two birds perfectly
and I was able to borrow a cloud die which I then lightly blended 'black soot' followed by just a touch of yellow, orange and pink to reflect the idea of a rainbow.

Lastly using a blending tool, I ponced 'mustard seed' and 'spiced marmalade' onto a piece of muslin, spritzed it with water to blend the colours, and after leaving it to dry, stapled it onto the tag.
I am entering this tag into the following challenges

Happy Crafting!

  2. It is obvious that a lot of work and thought went into this piece, Helen, and I love it. I am seeing the use of a lot of creative elements, not the least of which is the basket/nest you borrowed from a scrapbooking magazine. You have definitely created a winner here, my friend!
