Hello

I think I'm having withdrawal symptons
- I haven't done any craft today (😢 )
however, I'm sure that it's only temporary!

A few days ago, I made this ATC (Artist Trading Card)
along with a card, for an acquaintance who I know through an on-line facebook group.

If you have been following my posts recently, you will know that I've been playing
with Distress Oxide inks to create unique backgrounds.
This ATC is made from a piece of leftover card.

The little monster and the sign, are stamped directly onto the ATC, then again on white card.
They were then coloured with Prismacolor pencils, fussy cut and glued directly over the first image.
The 'hello' was then stamped onto the sign, the monster was given googly eyes AND eyebrows.
To finish off, I went around the edges with 'pumice stone' Distress Ink.

This was the card that accompanied the ATC to its destination.

The calendar was stamped onto white card, along with its title, and cut out.
The pig was stamped twice onto white card, coloured and cut and layered for a 3D effect.
It was given a black mat before adhering to a folded square card.

The recipient seemed very happy with her surprise ATC and card.

Stamps
Aall and Create - #13; #18
Stampotique - Flying Pig
My Favourite Things - Journal It Calendar Basics
Lawn Fawn - Jessie's ABCs

(Note : the calendar has been in my stash for some time so I don't know if it's still current)

Happy Landings

After another beautiful, sunny winter's day,
tonight definitely has a chill in the air .... brrrrr !!

These two pilots don't seem to be at all fazed by the cooler weather as they fly off into (what looks like) a beautiful sunset, with just the glow of colour left in the sky.  They were on a mission to deliver an ATC for a recent swap with a "Texture" theme.

The following morning, their co-pilots took off into a bright, sunny sky
to deliver yet another ATC in the same swap.
(I hope they all landed safely LOL!)

Girly Girl

This week at Wicked Wednesday
(actually, a bit longer but I'll get back to that)
the theme is Girly Girl
which is sponsored by Ppinky Dolls.
Ppinky Dolls have a gorgeous collection of digi stamps
so please go and have a look - you wont be disappointed!

My DT entry this week is Pigasus who is just so sweet!

I printed her to ATC size, and coloured her with my favourite Prismacolor pencils
except for her hair which is coloured with a multi coloured pencil.
It has red, blue, green & yellow together in the same lead
and as I turn the pencil, I get a rainbow of colour.

I trimmed the white ATC down a fraction,
then cut another ATC using pink shimmer card.

I adhered them together and stamped around the edges with a stitching border stamp
(49 & Market)

You have until 12th April to enter this challenge
instead of the usual two weeks,
as one of our sponsors pulled out at short notice!

Embellish It

The theme at Wicked Wednesday Challenge this week is
'Embellish It'
which is sponsored by The East Wind.

After I printed the digi image, I cut the card down to ATC size
and proceeded to colour her using Prismacolor pencils.

I cut a line underneath her boot and fussy cut around her legs
leaving the remainder of the image still on the original card.
I then added the woodgrain washi tape to the piece I had cut off
and reattached it to re-form the complete ATC.

It gives the appearance of her sitting on the floor enjoying her cuppa
while her kitty sits nearby.

Please pop over the The East Wind and have a look at all the delightful images they have in the store.

Hearts

is, none other then "Hearts"
keeping in mind that February is the month for romance!

Our sponsor is "A Day for Daisies" which have the most gorgeous images for sale in their shop.
Please pop over and have a look - you won't be disappointed!

I chose this image as it is so reminiscent of the heart sweets that were around in my childhood and growing up.  These days they are a little harder to find, but still available.

The image was coloured, fussy cut and popped onto dimensionals.  Three extra hearts were also coloured, cut and popped up for more dimension.

The background paper is from a dollar shop with a shimmery pink mat behind.
I added a zigzag stamp to resemble stitching.

I also made an additional card for my Valentine -
digital stamps are fabulous for being able to change their size!

Owl you need is love

"Owl (All) you need is LOVE"
is the theme at Wicked Wednesday this week.

Our sponsor is Concetta Kilmer and you can find all her lovely designs here.

I started with masking the owl and blending Distress Inks in green and yellow tonings.
I then spritzed it with water, removed the mask and left it to dry.

I coloured the owl and decided to go with a raised spotty look using Liquid Pearls.
His beak is also Liquid Pearls.
I was going to use Glossy Accents on his eyes, however, as I couldn't find my bottle,
I used Crackle Accents instead - I was pleased with how the eyes turned out!

The words are tiny letter stickers on leftover scraps of card.
Thanks for looking today.

Cute and Cuddly

After a short break over the Christmas/New Year period,
this week Wicked Wednesday is back with a new challenge
"Cute & Cuddly"
which is sponsored by Eekers Knitty Kitty Digis

This cute image is "Geranium Love", which would be perfect for
valentine's day, boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, wife, partner ...... the list could go forever!

I coloured it with my new Kaisercraft pencils which behave in a similar way to my favourite Prismacolor.  I'm not sure they blend quite as well, but I need to practice a bit more.

Please click on the link and have a look at all the cute images - you won't be disappointed!

Cats or Dogs

Cats or Dogs - I can't decide, eeek!

However, today I have gone with dogs which fits perfectly with this weeks challenge at Wicked Wednesday, and our sponsor is Sami Stamps.

I love these dogs, relaxing in the sun after playing
(at least, that's the scenario in my head, anyway LOL).

I printed them three times so that I could layer them.  Each was coloured the same way using Prismacolor pencils.  The background is a snippet of cloud paper, the sun is a stamp and the foreground is washi tape.

Please pop over to Sami Stamps and have a look at all the gorgeous images.

As the team at Wicked Wednesday are taking a well deserved break, you have until 31st January to add your entry to this challenge.

D is for Deer Family

It's starting to look a lot like Christmas
and what better present, then a family portrait.

The Deer Family

This week at Wicked Wednesday, the theme is
"Things that start with the letter 'D' "
and our sponsor is

They all look a bit stunned, but perhaps it was just the flash from the camera going off? LOL!

I found a snippet of paper for the background and some wood grain paper which was perfect to make into a frame.  The little Deer family were each coloured, fussy cut and popped onto dimensionals.

Please go and browse all the goodies at Miezo and

However, at Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge this week,
it is definitely winter!
Our sponsor this week is Miss Rach so please pop over
and have a look at all the gorgeous digi stamps on offer.

I really like this flamingo, although I'm thinking he is an arctic cousin to the usual pink variety, hehehe!

I coloured him with Prismacolor pencils, fussy cut him and popped him onto dimensionals.

Danger, Top Secret

"Science Geeks" is the theme this week at Wicked Wednesday
and we are sponsored by Polka Doodles

As I couldn't decide which image I liked most, I chose to do two.
Which one do you prefer?

They were both coloured with Prismacolor pencils which when needed, blend beautifully.

Washi tape makes grounding an image so easy.

The words are stencilled on using 'pumice stone' Distress Ink.

Thank you for visiting.
Please pop over to Polka Doodles and have a look at all the delightful images on offer.

Cinderella

This week's theme at Wicked Wednesday is
"Cinderella"
sponsored by Concetta Kilmer

She is coloured with a combination of Prismacolor and metallic pencils.
I fussy cut around the image, found a snippet of background paper and popped her onto dimensionals.  A quick doodle around the border and she is ready to go to the Ball!

Warm hands, warm heart

Brrrrr ...... at Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge this week,
the theme is "Winter"
and our sponsor is 'All Dressed Up'

With her cosy beanie and a hot cuppa to warm her up, this cute girl will soon be forgetting the winter chills.

She is coloured with a combination of Prismacolor pencils,
but for the variation in her beanie and jumper, I used a pencil that has four colours in the same lead, so as I turn the pencil, I get different colours - pretty neat, eh?

I matted her on a torn piece of handmade paper and punched out the sentiment.

Please have a look at all the gorgeous designs over at 'All Dressed Up'

Ugh ....

Following on from yesterday's post, is another swap in which I'm participating.
The theme is "Circles" on ATCs.

For those folk who are wondering what an ATC is,
it stands for Artist Trading Card
and is 2 1/2" x 3 1/2"

I started with the background paper as it already had circles,
and added the larger black circles using a bottle lid and black gesso.

"Reindeer"  was stamped onto various paper/card but I wasn't happy - something just wasn't right.  Then I stamped him onto a piece of leftover card where I had been experimenting with Ken Oliver 'Color Burst' powder paint and liked his mottled body colour.

I added a piece of torn washi tape across the bottom, with a smidge in the top corner, before fussy cutting "Reindeer" and glued him into place.

I coloured his antlers with silver pen and his bell with gold,
and of course, no reindeer would be complete without a red glittery nose.

I stamped the word "Ugh ....." (just because I could [hehehe]).

I wonder what he's thinking?

Stamps
Stampotique - "Reindeer"
Stampotique - "Phrase Cube 1"

Paper
Bo-Bunny - Butterfly Kisses [Delight]

Close Up

In between the busyness of this week,
it was lovely to be able to sit and do a spot of colouring.

the theme is Close Ups
which is sponsored by The East Wind.

For the first time, I printed this image on X-Press It Blending Card as I had run out of my favourite white cardstock.  I can't believe how smooth this Blending Card is - wow!

I coloured her with a combination of Prismacolor Pencils and metallic pencils,
with a touch of Gelli pens on the flowers in her hair.

To create the background, I masked off the image and lightly stamped a script stamp with 'watering can' Archival Ink.  I gently edged the ATC with a touch of Distress Ink.

Thanks for visiting and please pop over to The East Wind to see all the wonderful designs.

Owl Masquerade

I'm a little late in posting again this week (sigh!)
however by this time next week, I should be out of the tunnel and back into the crafting light!

In the meantime, at
Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge
the theme is
Anything Goes - Fall Related
which is sponsored by Aurora Wings.

The owl and masked lady are coloured with Prismacolor pencils
with highlights of sparkly Gelli pens in her hair and the front of the mask.

The quote is a stamp by Impression Obsession which I picked up at a papercraft show last Saturday (among other things, hehehe!!).

The background paper is from my stash with a little doodle finishing it off.

Thanks for coming by to look
and if you feel so inclined, I'd love you to leave a message.

Frankenstein

At Wicked Wednesday this week, the theme is
Witches, Bats & Black Cats
and our sponsor is
Oddball Art

The bat was lightly coloured with Inktense pencils but it looked a bit flat,
so a little black Wink of Stella gave it lots of sparkle.
The bandages are also Inktense pencils and some googly eyes gave him a bit more character.

The background is a combination of purple Distress Ink and a puff of Ken Oliver Color Burst 'Violet'.  A spritz of water combined the colours as you see above.  To add a little more interest some splodges of crackle paint were randomly added.

Please have a look at all the great images from Oddball Art, I'm sure you'll love them!

Carving Time

Oops!  I'm a little late with posting this week,
never mind, better late than never!

At Wicked Wednesday this week,
the theme is
Halloween Colours
sponsored by Nikki Burnette

I coloured Brittany with watercolour pencils this week, but I think I need a bit more practice as it seems a bit grainy in the photo, although in real life it looks better.  Oh well!

I fussy cut around her and glued her directly onto a piece of Graphic 45 paper from the Steampunk Spells collection.  This in turn, was adhered to background card coloured with Dark Velvet metallic Artalchemy Acrylic Paint.

Some tiny alphabet letters creating a title finishes it off.

Please have a look at Nikki's fabulous images and then come and play along at Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge - we'd love to see you!

Mushroom Fairy Pixie

'Add a diecut' is the theme at Wicked Wednesday this week,
and our sponsor is "Lemon Shortbread".

I have used Prismacolor pencils to colour the image and was really pleased with how well the colours blended, especially on the 'shrooms'.

The die cut is from Memory Box and was also coloured with the same pencils.

I doodled a border to finish off.

If you like creating ATCs, come and join in the fun at Wicked Wednesday.
You never know, you could be a winner and enjoy a prize from our sponsor!
