Papercraft Convention, Brisbane 2012

I have just had a terrific time in Brisbane attending the Scrapbooking & Papercraft Convention which runs over 3 days of the Queen's Birthday weekend.  Bev and I flew to Brisbane early on Saturday morning and arrived at the convention around 10am.  There were lots of people, so many that we decided just to see what stalls were there, but didn't really look too hard, there would be plenty of time for that later as we each had a 3 day pass.

While we were sitting having lunch, Bev spotted some SU friends who we haven't seen for ages, really lovely to catch up (and they'll be at Stamp Camp in August) and I thought I saw another girl but wasn't really sure until I saw her this morning at a stamp-a-stack, and yes she was there too.  It can be a small world sometimes!  After lunch we had our first class, a Tri-Fold Shutter Album, which used the lovely SU Twitterpated papers.    Our Sunday morning class was Patchwork Pieces using Graphic 45 "Olde Curiosity Shoppe" papers, really fun, just need some photos to finish it off; and our afternoon class was A Busy Book for a Busy Life using "simple stories" collection of papers,  Jan - July pages are done but I still need to finish the rest of the year.  Monday morning was our last class, Interactive Cards, once again using SU Big Top Birthday DSP and included Under the Big Top stamp set to keep, woohoo!!  We flew home Monday evening having had a really enjoyable weekend away, but feeling rather tired.

And just to prove that I really did meet Tim Holtz, who is currently in Australia promoting his various products, Bev very kindly took a couple of photos.  I had been watching one of his demos on Sunday using Distress Markers and was quite impressed with what you could do with them, but I wanted to ask what kind of paper he was using, and he was more than happy to have photos taken.

I'll be back soon to show you what we made in our classes, but they need to be finished first.

Have a crafty day!
