Three of Seven

Create your Imagination
is the title of the third card in this challenge.

I think I tried to do too much on this card
resulting in a bit of a clumsy mishmash.

The background circles are made using an embossing dauber with clear embossing powder.

The colour is 'spiced marmalade' and 'worn lipstick' Distress Oxides inks blended together,
then the excess rubbed off the embossed bits with a tissue,
resulting in the white circles.

A couple of other background stamps were added,
followed by the little bunny who is all ready for winter showers.

Stamps
Brutus/Monroe - Be Unique
Visible Image - Mesh-ellaneous; Just Be Happy
49 and Market - Gabi's Line Stitch Stamp Set

As I said earlier, I think this card has too much going on,
however, it allowed me to have a play with some items which have been waiting
to be used for some time.

Stay tuned for card #4 in the Seven Cards in Seven Days challenge.

Two of Seven

It really doesn't take me long - I'm already a day behind with this challenge!

Anyhow ...... moving along

This little chap is part of a set of stamps I recently acquired
so of course, I had to have a play.

The stamp is a two-parter, the first being the shaded body
and the second being the outline.

His forehead seems a bit white to me, but as it's only the second time I've inked him up,
hopefully he might have a little more fur there next time.

I promise I'll do my best to get back here tomorrow with card #3

One of Seven

Starting today, I'm taking part in an online challenge of making
Seven Cards in Seven Days

Day 1

The background is a turnabout stamp I recently bought
and thought I should try out.

I think the quote is perfect for this psychedelic background,
which was made using four Distress Oxide inks.

Darkroom Door - Quote Stamp : Masquerade

Come back tomorow to see what I make for Day 2.

Mystical Unicorns

The second card I entered in the Royal Easter Show
was made using the beautiful papers from Stamperia.

The paper on the front cover wraps around the spine and continues to the back cover.

Although the cover is pretty, it is the beautiful paper that makes it so.

The inside of this book card is the focal point.

The unicorn and flowers have been fussy cut and positioned in place.
The unicorn is glued flat along the edge with dimensionals under his head and chest.
The same is done with the flowers, which allows the tag to slip into place but is removable for writing a message on the reverse side.

The fame is made using watercolour paper that is concertinered and  slotted together.
Decorative papers were used to frame the frame (hope that makes sense),
then other flowers were fussy cut and glued into place
along with a little quote.  A piece of ribbon was tucked under the flowers.

I was very happy with the final result of this book card,
and although it wasn't a winner, it was displayed at the show
along with all the other entrants.

Thanks for visiting again today, it's always appreciated.

I'm Excited!

I'm so CHUFFED!
Not only is today my BIRTHDAY I found out this morning
that my card won 2nd prize in its category at the Royal Easter Show!

I made one like this for my son a while back, so this one may look familiar
however, this is only the second time I've entered a card in the show.

I started with a leftover piece of black card that had been smooshed through a puddle of Distress Ink which looked a bit like the milky way in a night sky.
I tore a page from a book and stamped and embossed 'torn paper' in the centre of it.
The centre was cut out, with the black background placed underneath with pop dots.

The TARDIS was stamped and embossed, coloured and cut out.
The door panels are done with Glossy Accents and although you can't see it in the photo,
the windows are shimmery.

The TARDIS is attached to the card with a wobble thingy
which means it's interactive.
The sentiment is computer generated.

 Stamps
Kindred Stamps - Time Traveller
Katzelkraft - Torn Paper

I guess I'll have to go to the Easter Show to see my card first hand,
what a great way to celebrate my birthday!
To say I'm excited, is an understatement.

Totally Quanked

When I was cutting circles for ATCoins recently,
I found in my box a set of dies for hexagons which I had bought many years ago
but never used.
Hmmm ...... "why not an ATHexagon?", I thought.

One of the dies is 2 1/2" which is the perfect size, so I hunted through my scrap card
and this is the result.  The background colour had been previously done by swiping card through puddles of Distress Oxide inks.

I was given this stamp by one of my friends a few months ago which I hadn't used until now, however, it's just the right size for an ATC, or in this case, an ATH.

I stamped it directly onto the hexagon, then twice more on white card.
I coloured both images, cut them out (one completely, the second one around the legs and body).
A small piece of washi tape was stuck down just under the body and wings,
then the cut image was glued directly over the top.
Using tiny foam dots, I popped up the body and legs over the image.

The word 'quanked' came up in my FB feed this week
and as I hadn't been feeling the best and was really tired,
it fitted how I felt perfectly.

"Quanked, an obsolete word meaning 'overpowered by fatigue';  listed in a glossary of words by Dartnell and Goddard, used in the County of Wiltshire (1893)"

I reckon some obsolete words should come back into the english language,
what do you think?

A wonderful creature

I always enjoy making ATCs
and ATCoins just add to the fun.

This ATCoin was made for a swap entitled 'Dragonflies',
and now that I know that the recipient has received it,
it's safe to show.

Each time I make ATCoins, I make two.

There are a couple of reasons I do this :
1. in case the first goes astray, I have a second waiting
2. I keep the second one and it goes in my folder

Although you can't see it in the first photo, both ATCoins have a touch of glimmer to them.

[Note : Curly Dragonfly is an old stamp and is probably no longer available]
