I give my heart to you ....

Now I know I'm a few days away from Valentine's Day, but I was making this for the Stampotique Designers Challenge, the theme of which is Red, Pink & White.  Red and pink are not colours I usually put together but in this instance I thought if one of the colours was used sparingly, it would work out.

The heart was stamped on Thursday morning while playing in a Dylusions class at Alice in Paperland, but I don't know the name of the set it came from.  However, I stamped it with the intention of using it in this challenge although at the time I had no idea of how or what it would look like.

I started off by using aged mahogany Distress Ink over the entire tag and then spritzed with water and let it dry.  Next I stamped "Mela" from Stampotique onto white cardstock and coloured her with fired brick and old paper Distress Markers before carefully cutting her out.  The heart was coloured with spun sugar Distress Marker which was spritzed with water and paper towelled off, which left a lovely pale pink.   I liked the idea of tucking the heart under her arm and then all that was left was to add a caption.  Some fibres were added to finish off the tag.

Shhhh ...... as long as my DH doesn't read my blog (and he doesn't very often), he may be receiving this as my Valentine.

I'm entering this in : Stampotique Designers Challenge                                                                                            Tim Holz' 12 Tags of 2013 February

    1. Thanks Sam. I've only just started entering challenges. Gets the mojo working when there is a theme or colour to work with, especially if it's slightly out of my comfort zone!
