Guess what?
I've been published again!
WOOHOO!!!

I picked up Issue 4 of Creative Papercraft  magazine today
and there on page 49 are my two cards!

As all the instructions are in the magazine, I won't go into detail except to say which stamps were used.

Love these little bunnies!

Ninety Years Young!

My BFF's mother is celebrating a very special birthday today,
she is turning 90 years!

I was asked if I would make her a card,
so after a bit of thinking and checking what colours to use,
this is it finished.

I started with a square white card base,
and cut a square mat from patterned paper to fit.
To make it just a little different, I used a border punch on the top left and bottom right sides,
then tucked some co-ordinating paper behind both these borders.

Next I cut the window and bricks from some foiled patterned paper
  using a Kaisercraft die.
I really liked the randomness of colour this created,
a perfect contrast for the background.

I don't use flowers very often on my cards,
however, the flowers I did have, all co-ordinated with each other perfectly along with some ribbon that I had recently purchased.

A couple of die cut butterflies and  the number 90th were all that was needed
to finish it off.

I made a box from white card and tied the same ribbon around it,
along with a little tag.

From what I hear, this lovely lady had a very happy 90th birthday,
celebrating with a family luncheon.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Pink, Purple and Dogs

I was recently asked by one of my friends
if I could make an 18th card.
The criteria for the card was "likes pink, purple and dogs"
so with that in mind, this is what I finished with:

The idea started by seeing some 'number' cards on FB and evolved from there.
I rummaged around in a box I rarely open and found a packet of chipboard numbers and luckily for me, there was a '1' and an '8' - phew!
I gessoed the numbers so I would have a lovely white base,
then painted them with a couple of coats of 'Ginger Flower' Silk Acrylic glaze.
Once that was dry, I added Glossy Accents and while that was wet,
randomly dropped little coloured beads over the top.
(they look a bit like hundreds & thousands - LOL!)

I stamped, coloured and fussy cut some dogs,
arranging them in various ways until I was happy with the layout.
A zig-zag border was added, then everything was adhered in place.
A matching glimmer card was added before sticking to the white card base.

Elegance meets wonder

Mr Mojo, where are you?
Who knows where he has got to ... probably sunning himself somewhere exotic!

Thankfully, there are themes popping up everywhere for inspiration,
and with that in mind,
The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers have a new theme
"E is for Elegant"

I started by spritzing plain white card with water,
and then puffing some Ken Oliver Color Burst paints in
Orange and Alizarin Crimson
followed by more spritzing to run the colours a bit more.
I then set it aside to dry for a while.

I stamped the elegant lady onto white card, adding colour to her skin and hair,
and fussy cut her
.
I then sat and looked at her trying to decide whether to leave her black & white against the colourful background, or add colour.  I left her on my desk overnight and this morning decided to add variations of blue for contrast - I think she looks better with more colour!

I added touches of metallic blue gel pen to highlight her crown, necklace
and the criss-cross bits on her gown.

I stamped the lady directly onto the background before gluing the cut image on top.
By doing this, the swirly vine isn't lost.

Yippee!  I managed without Mr Mojo!!!
I'm sure he'll come home when he sees I did this by myself!  LOL!!!

Bundle of Joy

Think, think, think ...... hmmm, what shall I show you today?

I don't often make baby cards, however, on this occasion I was asked if I could make a few cards
ready for the arrival of some much awaited bundles of joy.

Of course, I was very happy to oblige.

These cute little critters were a freebie on a magazine some months ago
and they are perfect for baby cards.

I stamped the images using 'jet black' Archival Ink
and coloured them with .... you guessed it .... Prismacolor pencils!

The sentiment is from Stampin' Up!

Thanks for looking and enjoy being creative!

Mwah!

I want to do something ..... anything!
I just don't know what and it is SO frustrating!
Mr Mojo has skipped off and left me in the lurch - H E L P !!!!

While I'm waiting for Mr Mojo to return,
here is a card that I sent to one of my friends for her birthday recently.

The background is a piece of paper that was in a pack of 6" x 6" from a discount store.
I love the colours on it and the way it looks like watercolour.

I stamped "Dwindled" on white card, coloured her with Prismacolor pencils and fussy cut around her.
She was then glued directly onto the background.

The sentiment was stamped in 'jet black' Archival Ink.

A shimmery pink mat was adhered behind the designer paper
which was then adhered to white card.

Thanks for looking today
and if you happen to see Mr Mojo, would you please send him home
and say 'all is forgiven' !!!

Where is Mr Mojo?

I'm BLANK!
Mr Mojo has gone AWOL and I suspect he's taken his friend Sanity with him!
Wish he'd come back, 'cause I want to craft - H E L P ???

Anyhoo, what can I show that hasn't been seen before?

How about something completely different and not craft related?

I while ago, someone at church was giving away a table full of tree orchids, so I picked one up and took it home.  I wasn't sure exactly where to put it but after a couple of attempts, I attached it to a jackaranda tree with an old stocking.

It has been a rather wet March and last week when I ventured out across the wet grass,
I was rewarded with this beautiful little orchid.  Just the one flower, but so pretty!

I've been keeping my eye on it, sometimes there might be a new shoot, other times it seems to not quite make it, however, I have succeeded in NOT killing it!

Same orchid, different camera angles.

The other plants in this garden are also thriving, thanks to the rain, including this lovely little native violet.

Thanks for looking today and putting up with something not craft related.
Hopefully, Mr Mojo will decide it's too damp outside and he'll be back ready to get stuck into crafting again - I sure hope so!  In the meantime, I'll just go and see if I can find Sanity !!!

Sixty and a half

In my group of friends, if someone is celebrating a ZERO birthday,
we generally take them out to lunch or dinner and give them a gift.

One of the girls was overseas last year when she turned 60,
and what with one thing or another, she missed out on being fussed over.

So, on Friday night just gone,
we took her to a lovely italian restaurant
and presented her with a gift voucher for a local shop which sells beautiful things;
and as her birthday was 6 months ago,
we celebrated her 60 1/2th birthday
(try saying that quickly after a couple of glasses of bubbly)

I went with a clean & simple DL size card
blending purple and blue together on the flowers.

The sentiment was perfect for the lateness of the celebration.

We had a lovely evening together and the birthday girl was happy
we had  s t r e t c h e d  out the celebration!

I need a crown

I'm always on the lookout for new stamps
and yesterday was no exception.
This weekend the Penrith Papercraft Show is on,
so my partner in crime and I headed west to see what goodies we could snag.

I'm quite amused by Art Impressions people stamps
so look who accompanied me home.

I cut a tag, stamped her in 'jet black' Archival Ink,
and coloured her with Prismacolor pencils.
Although you can't see it in the photo, I added clear Wink of Stella to the fur collar and cuffs.

I used 'dusty concord' Distress Ink around the edges
and finished with a pretty piece of ribbon.
