A Bit of Bling!

Bling!
I don't usually do very much bling, but in this instance,
it was perfect on an 18th card for a lovely young lady.

The colour suggestion was silver/aqua, so with a bit of shopping at my local papercraft store,
I came home with silver card, a 12"x12" sheet of glitter card, a sheet of an embossed shimmer card
along with a sheet of "Mist" from Kaisercraft's Lilac Whisper collection.

The Prima doll was stamped and embossed three times : firstly on white cardstock, again on the embossed shimmer card and lastly on the mist paper.  She was then coloured [skin/hair] and each was fussy cut, then glued into place.  Some diamontes finished off the dress.

Two strips of silver card were added for grounding, she was popped onto dimensionals and the 18 was adhered.

An appropriate quote and birthday greeting were added to the insert.

Stampin' Up! Thinlit - Happy Birthday

This card was a little different to my usual as it was a A4 sheet folded in half.
Usually my cards are A5 folded in half, however, I was very happy with the result.

I hear the birthday girl had a lovely 18th celebration!

Summer Lovin'

What a beautiful day it has been today.

After doing some household chores this morning,
I decided to make some cards, just for fun!

This sweet girl was such a delight to colour,
using of course, a variety of Prismacolor pencils.

I edged the white card with 'ripe persimmon' Distress Ink
which was almost a perfect colour match.

The printed paper was a leftover piece from another project
but has a lovely, bright summery feel about it.
Another small leftover piece added balance to the card.

I popped the sentiment onto dimensionals as an extra highlight.

Hogs Breath

In a swap I played along with recently,
the theme was to alter a drink coaster.

Just after Easter, my DH and I took a trip up the coast
to the beautiful town of Port Macquarie,
where on one of the nights for dinner, we went to Hogs Breath Cafe.
The food there is very yummy, but also filling!

Before we left the restaurant, I popped a couple of coasters into my handbag,
so I'd be ready to play along with this swap challenge.

As a matter of coincidence, I was excited to find that in the new Stampin' Up! catalogue
was the perfect set of stamps called "This Little Piggy".

I wanted to be able to still see most of the coaster,
so with a bit of fiddling I achieved what I set out to do.

If I'm sending something small in the mail, I always like to put it inside a card, just for safe-keeping.

I was quite happy with how these coasters turned out
(and hopefully my swap partners like them too).

Happy Landings

After another beautiful, sunny winter's day,
tonight definitely has a chill in the air .... brrrrr !!

These two pilots don't seem to be at all fazed by the cooler weather as they fly off into (what looks like) a beautiful sunset, with just the glow of colour left in the sky.  They were on a mission to deliver an ATC for a recent swap with a "Texture" theme.

The following morning, their co-pilots took off into a bright, sunny sky
to deliver yet another ATC in the same swap.
(I hope they all landed safely LOL!)

Coffee Time

Today has been a beautiful winter's day,
but now the sun is setting and the evening is getting colder ..... brrrrr!

I thought I should catch up with some cards today,
some for swaps, some for birthdays
and some for orders.

This cute little chap (who is getting drunk on coffee) is for a swap,
and hopefully the recipient will like it.

The image was stamped four times, the first three onto white cardstock
and the fourth directly onto the green card, which allows for the steam from the coffee mug.

Each of the three images on the white card were coloured identically with a variety of prismacolor pencils.

The first image was completely cut out; on the second image, the lid, the coffee band and the mouse were cut out.  On the third image, only the mouse was cut out.

The first cut image was adhered directly onto the green card, lining up the images.
The second and third images were popped onto dimensionals for a 3D effect.

The coffee mug was given a glaze by adding a small amount of glossy accents
and allowed plenty of drying time.

A piece of rainbow washi tape was added to ground the image.

A quick little sentiment was added, the top was adhered to a white card base
 and it was all finished!
