Hearts

is, none other then "Hearts"
keeping in mind that February is the month for romance!

Our sponsor is "A Day for Daisies" which have the most gorgeous images for sale in their shop.
Please pop over and have a look - you won't be disappointed!

I chose this image as it is so reminiscent of the heart sweets that were around in my childhood and growing up.  These days they are a little harder to find, but still available.

The image was coloured, fussy cut and popped onto dimensionals.  Three extra hearts were also coloured, cut and popped up for more dimension.

The background paper is from a dollar shop with a shimmery pink mat behind.
I added a zigzag stamp to resemble stitching.

I also made an additional card for my Valentine -
digital stamps are fabulous for being able to change their size!

Happy Valentine's

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!

Do you remember the love heart sweets that were around when we were young?
You can still get them, however, they are much harder to find these days
and the packaging has got much smaller!
My spy found some in a shop at Darling Harbour,
a perfect addition to my card.

This digi stamp was printed off twice, coloured with prismacolor pencils, fussy cut and popped onto dimensionals.  Three of the hearts were given extra height.
The background paper came from a dollar store.

Please have a look at all the gorgeous digi designs that are in the
A Day for Daisies shop - believe me when I say you won't be disappointed!.

Give yourself a hug!!!

Just a quick post tonight .....

I always have good intentions to post birthday cards to my friends,
and as the year progresses, my cards get slower and slower to arrive,
until sometimes (gasp, horror!), they get forgotten!

This year, I am determined to get them sent or delivered on time,
starting with this one which was hand delivered today.

"Mela" was one of my first Stampotique stamps
and she still remains one of my favourites.

She was stamped, coloured and fussy cut before being adhered directly
to the background paper (with some washi tape to stand on).

The sentiments were stamped, an insert added
and she was ready to be delivered.

Checkers

As I mentioned in the last post, it was a weekend of birthdays.

Following on from #2 son's birthday, was
#1 son's birthday!

I started by stamping "Checkers" onto white card and fussy cut him.

I then coloured him with Kaisercraft pencils,
mixing a couple of colours together on his shirt.

Next I chose a background paper from Kaisercraft 'Sandy Toes' collection
cutting it to leave a border on the black card.
I added some washi tape for "Checkers" to stand on,
with a couple of torn snippets in the top corner for balance.

Finally, I stamped "Life is a Journey" with 'jet black' Archival ink,
and popped "Checkers" onto dimensionals.

Birthday Weekend

It's that time again ...... what's that you say?

BIRTHDAY WEEKEND

Yes, today is #2 son's birthday, so out came some stamps I rather like,
but haven't used very much.

This muddled up zebra seems a little annoyed,
perhaps he was hoping his birthday would just float away like the balloons!
 Ha, ha ..... no chance!

I started with a shimmer black blank card
(try saying that after a few drinks .... hic!)
found a nice background paper from a dollar store and cut it down to fit.

I stamped the zebra and the balloons on white cardstock and fussy cut them.
Once I knew where he was going to sit, I stuck a piece of washi tape in place
and stamped the sentiment.

I coloured the balloons and zebra with Prismacolor pencils.
One balloon was glued directly onto the background,
the second balloon and zebra were popped onto dimensionals.
The balloon strings were drawn by hand.

After a yummy lunch out with the family, we returned home to open presents
(and, of course, the card)
followed by the 'kids' happily playing video games!

I'll be back again tomorrow for the second of the weekend birthdays!

Owl you need is love

"Owl (All) you need is LOVE"
is the theme at Wicked Wednesday this week.

Our sponsor is Concetta Kilmer and you can find all her lovely designs here.

I started with masking the owl and blending Distress Inks in green and yellow tonings.
I then spritzed it with water, removed the mask and left it to dry.

I coloured the owl and decided to go with a raised spotty look using Liquid Pearls.
His beak is also Liquid Pearls.
I was going to use Glossy Accents on his eyes, however, as I couldn't find my bottle,
I used Crackle Accents instead - I was pleased with how the eyes turned out!

The words are tiny letter stickers on leftover scraps of card.
Thanks for looking today.
