Mwah!

Challenge #228 at Stampotique this week is
Use only hues of REDS and PINKS

Starting with the background, I blended Distress Ink 'victorian velvet' over the cardstock.  Next "My Heart" was stamped randomly using Distress Ink 'worn lipstick', along with "Kiss" ("Mwah & Kiss").  "Mwah" was stamped in the top corner with 'jet black' Archival Ink.

"Toucan and Budgie" were stamped onto extra card, coloured with Prismacolor pencils in various pinks (with just a touch of yellow), and fussy cut.  A piece of washi tape was added before "Toucan" was popped onto dimensionals.

A black cardstock border was added before adhering onto pink cardstock.

All stamps are from Stampotique.

Thanks for looking.

Hearts

The theme this week on
"Hearts"

I thought I'd go with one of Tim Holtz's Crazy Birds along with "My Heart" from Stampotique.

First of all, I stamped him onto scrap paper and cut around it to use as a mask.  Next I stamped him onto the ATC.  I then gently blended Distress Ink 'worn lipstick' around the edges.  With the mask in place, I stamped "My Heart" stamping off twice for a pale background.  The bird was coloured using Prismacolor pencils in tones of green with just a teeny bit of yellow and red.  Some pale grey was used to add shadow to ground him.  The heart was then stamped onto Carta Bella "It's a Celebration" collection 'Birthday Banner'.  One side of this paper is red dots on a pink background, the other side is two different style of banners, one of which I glued across the top of the ATC.  The heart was fussy cut and popped onto dimensionals.

Ready to Abandon

I thought I would have a bit of a play with some new stamps, so what better way to 'break them in' then to make some bookmarks to abandon.

I've used "There are always flowers" from Carabelle Studio for this first set of bookmarks.
They are coloured with Prismacolor pencils and although you can't see it in the photo, there is a touch of Wink of Stella in the centre of each flower.

This lovely horse is from "revolution" from Visible Image, along with the script.  The words are from Katzelkraft.  The background colours are a blend of Distress Inks spritzed with water.

This great guy is "Buru" from Stampotique.  I stamped him directly onto the bookmark, then masked him and blended Distress Inks over the top.  He is coloured using a variety of Prismacolor pencils. These bookmarks are also spritzed with water.

All these bookmarks are now in plastic bags and ready to abandon.

Winston's 21st

Gosh, it's already the 15th of January, so without any further ado

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I often find once Christmas is over, I feel quite weary and the little gray cells need a break from crafting as well.   At the beginning of January, I headed up the coast to my home away from home for a few days where the only crafting I did was colouring in "The Enchanted Forest" book I was given for Christmas.   This is such an easy way to craft, where the hardest thing to decide is which picture and what colours to use.

Now I'm back home and feeling refreshed and ready to go again!

Let me just go back to last year and to the 21st birthday card I made for a nice young man.

This was the first time I had used this stamp from Dylusions and I was really happy with the way it turned out.  I stamped Winston onto white card and fussy cut around the whole image.  I then stamped it again onto white card as well as blue shimmer paper.  I coloured the bow tie and waistcoat with markers, fussy cut all the pieces including the sleeves, front of jacket, lapels etc and put them all back into place on the first image.  I guess this is what you would call paper piecing?  Winston was attached to the card with dimensionals.

The sentiment is also from Dylusions and was stamped directly onto the card.

This stamp is from my stash which I found again when I was looking for something else.

Our friend seemed tickled pink with his card.

Thanks for looking today and I'll be back again soon with more craftyness!
